LL Cool J, Lionel Richie & Gloria Estefan to Receive Kennedy Center Honors

A trio of American music legends will receive the nation's highest cultural honor later this year. Iconic rapper-turned-actor LL Cool J will join Cuban-American singer and actress Gloria Stefan, and singer and musician Lionel Richie for the 2017 Kennedy Center Honors later this year. Dancer Carmen de Lavallade and writer-producer Norman Lear will also be honored.

According to Kennedy Center Chairman David M. Rubenstein, the Kennedy Center Honors highlights the careers of artists whose work has helped shape cultural life in America.

The honorees will sit with President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump during the December ceremony.
