League of Legendary Women

Hi, it’s Julie Guy & Tamara G.  101.5 LITE FM and Memorial Healthcare System are proud to recognize our newest Legendary Woman!

Tracy Milgram-Posner is the founder of BRCAStrong.  Tracy was diagnosed with the BRCS 2 gene at the young age of 21.  The most well-known gene lined to breast cancer risk.  Her experiences led her to form the organization to support Previvors, Thrivers, and Survivors on their journey.  Whether through routine monitoring or preventative surgery.

The overall goal of BRCAStrong is to navigate members through the various stages they go through as Previvors, Thrivers and Survivors. The organization also wants to empower women living with mastectomies and help the best it can with the wonderful network of women it has formed, the right foundation, and informative physicians to properly support their needs.
Tracy created BRCAStrong in 2015 with this message in mind.  She felt the need to give back to women who are in need of post mastectomy garments and help them feel whole again. As a Previvor herself, who was diagnosed with the BRCA 2 gene at the young age of 21, Tracy understands what many women go through with this process. At 32 years old she made the difficult decision to undergo a robotic hysterectomy and a prophylactic bilateral mastectomy.  In Tracy's words, "I know what it’s like to feel isolated and so I formed this organization to help women feel whole again."
In the past four years BRCAStrong has hosted events, educational panels, fashion shows, and much more. The group started with one and has grown nationally with over 2200 female members. The big takeaway is this is an organization about support, advocacy, guidance and love.  And, in 2019 BRCAStrong became a 501c3 non-profit organization.
