Diana Ross to Receive Lifetime Achievement Award and Perform at the American Music Awards

Diana Ross will receive one of the biggest honors of the night at the American Music Awards (AMA) next month.

Dick Clark Productions and ABC just announced that the lead singer of the Supremes will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at this year’s ceremony.

Ross, who is a seven-time AMA winner, will mark the occasion with a performance during the broadcast.

“It was Dick Clark who said, ‘Music is the soundtrack of our lives.’ So true. I am so excited to be receiving this honorable award,” the 73-year-old icon said in a statement.

Ross will join an elite list of performers who have previously won the award. That list includes: Whitney Houston, Elvis PresleyElla FitzgeraldStevie Wonder, and many others.

The American Music Awards will be broadcast live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, November 19 at 8pm on ABC.
