Furry Fursday: Meet Maya

A loyal dog who loves the water

March 31, 2017

Maya is a five-year-old German Shepherd mix who was transferred to the Humane Society’s Soffer and Fine Adoption Center from Miami-Dade Animal Services. This girl is a loyal companion whose most precious qualities are her perfect imperfections. Before arriving to the shelter, it appears that Maya suffered injuries that caused her to have her eye removed and damaged her jaw. But these injuries are a thing of the past for her. Maya is a fun-loving doggie who does not let a little loss of eyesight stop her from playing and jumping and enjoying a happy life! Talk about a fun girl- Maya enjoys playing with doggies and humans, alike. Not to mention- she loves water! Maya will have the time of her life with a sprinkler, a shallow pool or a hose in the back yard. She will have a ball with anything she can splish splash and wet her paws with! She is just a great girl who likes to have a good time and wants to put a smile on your face.

Aventura Mall Adoption Outreaches Four Times A Month!

Thanks to a great partnership with Aventura Mall, adoptable doggies from the Humane Society of Greater Miami are able to increase their chances of finding their forever families by visiting the mall. Every weekend, the Humane Society brings doggies who are searching for their human soul mates to the fabulous shopping mall in hopes of finding them their perfect matches. You can find us and our adoptable pets between Ann Taylor and Abercrombie and Fitch on the first and third Saturday of every month from 12:00pm to 3:00pm and on the second and fourth Sunday of every month from 2:00pm to 5:00pm.

Meet the team, learn about ways you can get involved to help homeless animals and get ready to fall in love with precious, adoptable doggies looking for a human like you to care for and love them for the rest of their lives!
