Furry Fursday: Meet Lamar

October 27, 2016

Want a giant bear hug? Well, Lamar is ready to jump on you and give you the warmest most loving hug you have ever had! This six-year-old Bulldog mix is sweet, friendly and downright adorable. Lamar is a playful guy who loves to run around and play fetch, tag and hide-and-seek. When he is not frolicking around outside, he enjoys a nice nap and simply some relaxing time while he gazes out the window. Did we mention how cute Lamar is? His smile is absolutely contagious and will make you happy at the first glance of him.

He is available for adoption at the Soffer and Fine Adoption Center located at 16101 West Dixie Highway in North Miami Beach.

Have you heard about the FREE spay and neuter services available for the pets of low-income residents of Miami-Dade? For a limited time, anyone actively receiving government assistance benefits(this includes WIC, SSI, Food Stamps and Medicaid) can get their dog or cat spayed or neutered absolutely FREE. This special offer includes the rabies vaccine with the surgery.

These free services are available at the Miami-Dade County Community Spay Neuter Clinic in Cutler Bay located at 10700 SW 211 Street. The clinic is open Tuesday through Saturday and you can call 305-749-1854 or visit our website, www.humanesocietymiami.org, to make an appointment.

In addition to these free services for pets, community cats can be spayed/neutered at the clinic for free as well, no proof of government assistance required. What exactly is a community cat? Community cats are defined as un-owned, free roaming cats whose “home” is within the community rather than in an individual household. This free sterilization service includes a FVRCP vaccination, a rabies vaccination if the cat is four months and or four pounds or older, and a left ear tip, which is used to identify fixed community cats. The community cats may be dropped-off between 7:00 am-10:00 am Tuesday-Saturday and no appointment is necessary.

Visit www.humanesocietymiami.org for more information on these worthwhile services or to make an appointment.
