Furry Fursday: Meet Didi

July 14, 2016

Meet Didi! Didi is a five-month-old Chihuahua mix who unfortunately had to be surrendered by her owner due to allergies. Didi is a great doggie with lots of energy. She loves to run around outside and enjoy all that nature has to offer. She also enjoys playing with all kinds of doggie toys like squeaky toys, stuffed animals, balls and chew toys, not to mention sharing them during play with a doggie friend! Didi gets along great with other doggies as well as humans of all ages. This active little girl is social, friendly and curious and would love to explore the world with a family she can call her own forever!

Free Spay/Neuter for Low Income Residents

Have you heard about the FREE spay and neuter services available for the pets of low-income residents of Miami-Dade? For a limited time, anyone currently receiving government assistance benefits(this includes WIC, SSI, Food Stamps and Medicaid) can get their dog or cat fixed absolutely FREE. This special offer includes the rabies vaccine with the surgery.

These free services are available at the Miami-Dade County Community Spay Neuter Clinic in Cutler Bay located at 10700 SW 211 Street. The clinic is open Tuesday through Saturday and you can call 305-749-1854 or visit our website,www.humanesocietymiami.org, to make an appointment.

In addition to these free services for pets, community cats can be spayed/neutered at the clinic for free as well, no proof of government assistance required. What exactly is a community cat? Community cats are defined as un-owned, free roaming  cats whose “home” is within the community rather than in an individual household. This free sterilization service includes a FVRCP vaccination, a rabies vaccination if the cat is four months and or four pounds or older, and a left ear tip, which is used to identify fixed community cats. The community cats may be dropped-off between 7:00 am-10:00 am Tuesday-Saturday and no appointment is necessary.

Visit www.humanesocietymiami.org for more information on these worthwhile services or to make an appointment.

This is a Miami-Dade Animal Services no kill project in partnership with the Humane Society of Greater Miami.
