Your plans for New Year's Eve are made and you've already made your resolutions too. The only thing left is to plan for the traditional New Year's Day Good Luck feast.

But what you eat on the 1st day of the year could vary depending on where you live, grew up, or your cultural traditions.

Here a few suggestions:

It's considered a good luck meat and since it comes from a fatty pig it means you will have prosperity in 2018.

Collard Greens
Eating collard greens or any greens on New Year's Day represents money and wealth in the new year.

Donuts/Bundt Cake
Ring-shaped foods are said to represent the continuous year and getting through it from beginning to the end.

Black-Eyed Peas
These are popular in Southern culture because they prevented the people in the south from dying of starvation during the Civil War.

This veggie represents prosperity and wealth in the New Year, but beware because it causes insane gas!

What is your family's New Year's Day food tradition?
