9 Items You Need to Bring to Riptide This Year

October 8, 2018

Let’s face it, you’re going to have fun at Riptide Music Festival Powered by Ford – No matter what! But these few items can mean the difference between a great night and a PERFECT night. We’re ready for the 3rd annual largest Classic Hits party on Fort Lauderdale Beach, and we know exactly which essentials you should bring with you this year. Your Riptide packing list is as follows:

1. Phone & Charger

First and foremost, you’re going to want your phone. Not only to stay in contact with your friends, who may be wandering around the beach, but to capture every breath-taking moment, so you can remember and share them forever. Don’t forget a portable battery pack charger too!

2. Sunglasses

Not that squinting all day isn’t fun or anything, but you’ll probably be a lot more comfortable in a pair of nice UV-resistant sunglasses. It can get really bright out there; your eyes will thank you!

3. ID and Cash

Bottom line is, you can’t enjoy all of the beers and liquor brands Riptide has partnered with if you forget your ID. Most of our venders accept credit cards, but it’s also a good idea to have cash on hand for other purchases during the festival. ATMs will be available throughout the festival as well. Their locations will be displayed on the festival map!

4. Water

When in the sun all day, it’s very important to stay hydrated. You may bring one sealed bottle of water in with you, up to 2L in size. You are also allowed to bring in a Camelback, but it must be empty upon entry and then may be filled inside Riptide.

5. Sand Safe Shoes

Keep in mind that Riptide Music Festival takes place in the sand. This means a guaranteed calf workout, but it also means guaranteed sandy shoes. Make sure to wear shoes that are comfortable enough to wear all day in the sun and sand. Flip flops, sandals, and comfortable sneakers are suggested.

6. Sunscreen

Do not underestimate the life-saving power of sunscreen. The American Academy of Dermatology recommends wearing at least SPF 30, and remember to reapply often!

7. Beach Towel/Chair

In the past Riptide has been known to give away free beach chairs to those attending the concert, but this year, we have decided to offer different gifts instead. This means that if you’d like a chair, you’ll have to bring your own. Feel free to bring a towel to lay on as well.

8. Cool Clothes

The worst thing you can do in South Florida is underestimate the sun. Even though Riptide Music Festival is held in December, it tends to stay warm while the sun is out. Make sure to dress in comfortable, cool clothes. You can even throw on a bathing suit, why not!

9. Bag for Goodies

One of the greatest parts about Riptide (after the amazing music, of course) is all the free gifts that are given away by our awesome sponsors and vendors. Your life will be way easier if you’ve got some way to carry all of your new stuff. Small backpacks and purses (maximum 12X12”) will be allowed inside Riptide for you to carry it all!

Now you’re as ready as we are for November 30th! We'll see you on Fort Lauderdale Beach!
