The wait for the lastest “The Walking Dead” spinoff is almost over.

During the Comic-Con@Home series panel, the creative team and cast revealed that “The Walking Dead: World Beyond” will officially premiere on October 4 on AMC following “TWD.”

The back-to-back feature will be capped off by an episode of the after-show, “Talking Dead.”

The news is sure to delight fans of the franchise as the coronavirus pandemic pushed back the original April 12 premiere following the shut down of all TV show and film productions in mid-March. While the episodes were filmed, post-production on the series was delayed temporarily.

Following the announcement of the new premiere date, the panel revealed an extended two-minute long trailer.

The two-season limited series digs deeper into the “TWD” mythology focusing on the first generation raised in apocalypse.

According to the official synopsis: “A group of teenagers sheltered from the dangers of the post-apocalyptic world receive a message that inspires them to leave the safety of the only home they have ever known and embark on a cross-country journey to save their father.”

It stars Nico Tortorella, Aliyah Royale, Alexa Mansour, Hal Cumpston, Nicolas Cantu, Annet Mahendru, Julia Ormond and Joe Holt.

The third scripted series in the franchise was initially announced in November 2019 following the original zombie-horror series’ midseason finale.

At the time, the brief tease revealed a surprising connection between “TWD” and its first spin-off “Fear the Walking Dead,” as a helicopter (presumably the same one that took Rick Grimes) with a three-circle logo appeared on-screen.
