Kanye West Apologizes to Kim Kardashian for ‘Going Public’ With Their Private Life

July 25, 2020

Kanye West is asking Kim Kardashian for forgiveness.

On Saturday, West took to Twitter to issue a public apology to his wife for previously putting their private life on blast.

“I would like to apologize to my wife Kim for going public with something that was a private matter. I did not cover her like she has covered me,” he tweeted.

“To Kim I want to say I know I hurt you. Please forgive me. Thank you for always being there for me,” West added.

The act of contrition comes after the rapper sent a series of tweets over the last few days claiming he's "been trying to get divorced" from Kardashian over meeting with rapper Meek Mill.

"They tried to fly in with two doctors to 51/50 me," West wrote in a since-deleted tweet, referring to the temporary, involuntary psychiatric commitment of individuals in California. "I've been trying to get divorced since Kim met with Meek at the Waldorf for 'prison reform.'"

"Meek is my man and was respectful," he followed. "Kim was out of line. I'm worth 5 billion dollars and more than that through Christ. But y'all ain't listen to MJ and now y'all believe them??"

Prior to that, West spoke out about his marriage during a political rally in South Carolina.

Speaking to the crowd earlier this week, the 43-year-old gave a rambling speech and said he and Kardashian had considered terminating their first pregnancy.

"So even if my wife were to divorce me after this speech, she brought North into the world, even when I didn't want to," West said. "She stood up, and she protected that child."

Following his tweets and outbursts, Kardashian released a statement on her Instagram Story describing the struggles of dealing with loved ones who suffer from bi-polar disorder.

"I kindly ask that the media and public give us the empathy and compassion that is needed so we can get through this,” Kardashian wrote.
